Overview
The nVent Erico Cadweld PTC2G1V is an exothermic welding mold engineered to create permanent, low-resistance cable-to-cable grounding connections. Connecting 2/0 concentric cable (0.418" OD) to #2 concentric cable (0.292" OD), this graphite mold delivers a molecular bond rated with the same current-carrying capacity as the conductors themselves. No external power source is required — installation is portable and installers can be trained quickly to achieve consistent, inspectable results.
Designed for grounding and bonding applications including computer rooms, tunnels, utility, commercial, and industrial environments, the PTC2G1V is part of nVent Erico’s industry-leading Cadweld exothermic system with over 100 years of field-proven performance worldwide.
Features
- Forms a permanent, low-resistance molecular bond between conductors
- Current capacity rated equal to the conductor — no derating required
- No external power source needed — fully portable field installation
- Connections are visually inspectable for quality assurance
- Mold Family PT — horizontal through, parallel side-by-side configuration
- No split crucible; no wear plates
- Compatible with nVent Erico Cadweld welding material (90 or 90PLUSF20, sold separately)
- Compatible with Handle Clamp L160 (sold separately)
- For low-ventilation environments (tunnels, computer rooms), specify nVent Erico Cadweld Exolon mold with XL prefix
- Tested and certified to UL, CSA, and IEEE standards
